The Leyburn and District Historical Society collects, collates and records information about the local area and its families.
We are happy to do research for people seeking information for family history.
We have a collection of photos, books and written material gathered by us, or sent to us by people happy to share their families' experiences. We do not collect historical objects, as our group is too small to run a museum.
Among other achievements, we have marked some significant local sites, have erected a board containing a list of the known burials in the Leyburn cemetery, and are happy to set up displays of written and photographic materials at relevant public functions.
New members are always welcome. We meet bi-monthly.
