The Historic Leyburn Sprints will once again return to the streets of Leyburn for the 25th running! Watch around 200 cars will race around the idyllic country town of Leyburn, vying for trophies over 20 classes, as well as outright placings. Get amongst the drivers and their cars, ranging from the 1920’s through to modern classics.
The Historic Leyburn Sprints commemorates the running of the Australian Grand Prix, held at Leyburn on a disused wartime airstrip in 1949. Come for the racing, stay for the sightseeing amongst this historic town and surroundings. Camping is available in the recreational reserve, a short walk from the track.
Celebrity drivers, country markets, live music, Show n Shine, and the Vintage Caravan Comp all add to the entertainment provided by this unique event in a fantastic setting – this event just keeps getting better and better!
Tickets are available at the gate during the event. Gates open 6.30 am.
The competition starts at 8 am to 5 pm Saturday, 8 am to roughly 3.00 pm Sunday.
